Providing Inclusive Access To Quality Education In South Sudan
We Are Committed to Ending Education Poverty in Rural South Sudan
Education remains a powerful weapon against extreme poverty. According to the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (2020), the adult literacy rate in South Sudan is only 34.5%, one of the lowest in the world. Nearly 2.2 million children are out of school, deprived of the education that could transform their futures.
Our Empowerment Pathways
Ariang Boma Schools Network
Since its inception in 2007, HFA has supported 3 rural schools in South Sudan to provide quality education even during the hardest times like the civil of 2013 & 2016, and the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020.
Women and Girls Empowerment
While vital, education alone is not enough. HFA trains women in business skills and seeds them to start small profitable businesses and continues to mentor and connect them to economic development opportunities.
Business Training and Seeding
We offer practical skills in business management, financial literacy, and innovative agricultural practices. We provide continuous coaching and mentorship to ensure participants receive ongoing support.
Unlocking Human Potential Through Education
Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. Studies show that every additional year of schooling can increase a person’s income by up to 10%. For girls, the impact is even more profound as educated women are more likely to invest in their families’ health and education, creating a ripple effect that benefits entire communities.
Educational poverty manifests in several ways. It entails more than the lack of income and productive resources necessary to ensure sustainable livelihoods. Hunger, malnutrition, limited access to education & basic services, and missed life opportunities locally and globally are all manifestations of educational poverty.
